Engaging the Challenges of a Multicultural Democracy
Tribe, Inc. is a non-partisan 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to encouraging and facilitating dialogue on the issues of race, ethnicity, and culture. Believing these issues are of vital importance both domestically and internationally, Tribe seeks to use mass communication techniques, educational programs, and public service initiatives to promote constructive solutions to the challenges of a multicultural democracy.

Conceived in the belief that America’s increasing racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity impacts every aspect of this nation’s political discourse, Tribe engages the host of complex public policy questions facing America’s multicultural democracy. With demographic projections indicating an emerging non-white majority, Tribe’s purpose is to respond to the continuing challenges and opportunities presented by the cultural and political transformation of the American landscape.
To this end, Tribe develops initiatives that elevate public discourse and encourages problem-solving strategies involving a broad spectrum of ideological constituencies. For these reasons, Tribe is committed to cultivating divergent perspectives and ideas. Therefore, in pursuit of these objectives, Tribe promotes the following core principles:
Highlighting the impact of multicultural issues on American domestic and international policies
Providing a non-partisan context for identifying and analyzing contrasting perspectives
Advancing non-partisan research and analysis
